Why is it that Jesus Christ was never married? If Priesthood holders require a wife to fulfill their Priesthood and enter the Celestial Kingdom, why didn't the Savior ever marry? Does He now have an eternal companion watching over the world with Him on the other side? = = = = = = = = = = = = We don't know whether the Savior was (or not) married. The gospel writers (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) kept a reverent silence on the subject. The Savior said even less about it. It seems that the Apostle John summarized well the objective of the gospel writers when he wrote: "And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." (John 20:30-31) Some have speculated that because the Savior appeared to Mary Magdalene first, perhaps there was some kind of relationship between them. That argument, although appealing, has no basis in the scriptures, and has always been considered speculation and not Church doctrine.
