Section 123

  - Gather information about discriminatory acts and abuses (1-3)
- Include a list of lost property, damaged reputations, and names of perpetrators

- No hearsay, no second-hand accounts, no speculation or suppositions, no "mission field-like folk tales": only facts, numbers, and compelling evidences

- Many in the world are seeking for the truth but are not able to find it (12)

- Do all things cheerfully and then wait for the Lord's salvation (17)


 
Section 124
Beginning of the
"Nauvoo Period" (1840-45)

  - A proclamation to the world is to be issued (3)

- Hyrum Smith and George Miller commended for their integrity (15, 20)

- David Patten (1799-1838), Edward Partridge (1793-1840) and Joseph Smith Sr. (1771-1840) were received in the Lord's bosom  (19)

- Saints from afar commanded to come to Nauvoo and bring their treasures to build the temple (26-27)

- Purposes of the Nauvoo Temple--and by extension, of all other temples:

- Baptisms for the dead cannot be accepted outside of the temple if its construction is not finished after sufficient time (30-32)

- When enemies hinder a work, the Lord may no longer require it (49-50,53)

- Hyrum Smith called as Patriarch, Prophet, Seer, and Revelator (91-96)

- Hyrum was also to hold the keys of the sealing blessings (124)

- Twelve Apostles hold the authority to open the work in all nations (128)

- Names of the Twelve Apostles in January of 1841 (127,129)

- Quorums of Elders (standing ministers) instituted (137)

- Quorums of Seventies (traveling elders) instituted (138-140)

- Purpose of these quorums: for help, for government, for the work of the ministry, and perfecting of the saints (143)

2. What did the Prophet Joseph Smith call "the most glorious of all subjects belonging to the everlasting gospel"? (128:17)

3.  How can an action (i.e. an ordinance, a prophecy, etc.) performed by a righteous priesthood holder become a law on earth and in heaven? (128:9)

4. What is necessary in the dispensation of the fulness of times for the salvation of the whole human family? (128:18)
