[Water] is not only a symbol of cleansing, cooling, refreshing, and reviving; it actually does all those things, at one and the same time, along with which it is par excellence the medium of passage: half-way between solid matter and tenuous spirit, it enables bodies to move from one place to another in a state of effortless motion and silent suspension, visibly hovering between the solid earth below and the empty sky above.
